About Us
We believe in a healthy world that reflects the best in us, and that’s the world we’re helping to build.
The Virginia Opioid Abatement Toolkit was created by the VCU Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research and is a Virginia Opioid Abatement Authority funded project. The goal of this toolkit is to provide evidence-based guidance, tailored to the needs of Virginian counties and cities, on how opioid abatement funds could be used.
This will be achieved through an active relationship between the project team, communities, expert clinical consultants, and the Opioid Abatement Authority that will guide the focus of the toolkit and future materials. These relationships will be built through intentional outreach, community engagement events, and a feedback system built into the toolkit website.
The content of the toolkit website is based on the nine core abatement strategies outlined by the Primer on Spending Funds from the Opioid Litigation made by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and includes resources, example programs, and educational resources specific to Virginia.
